How calendar differences are calculated
Calendar duration has to respect real month lengths and leap years rather than treating every month or year as the same number of days. Toolmera calculates a calendar years-months-days breakdown separately from the absolute elapsed-day count.
The total-day calculation uses UTC calendar-day boundaries to avoid local timezone shifts changing the selected dates.
Exclusive vs. inclusive end dates
Standard elapsed difference treats January 1 to January 2 as one day. When Include end date is enabled, both calendar dates are counted, so that same range spans two counted days.
Use the inclusive option for workflows such as event dates or other periods where the final calendar day should be part of the count.
How business days are counted
Toolmera counts Monday through Friday as business days and excludes Saturdays and Sundays. The business-day count follows the same end-date inclusion setting as the total-day result.
Public holidays are not removed because holiday calendars differ by country and region.
